After years of Deregulation: Who’s been guarding the hen house?!?
Tell me why we should bailout the thieves who under the cover of deregulation darkness have been feasting on our nest eggs? The Cheney/Bush Administration has the nerve to tell us that tax payers are going to be responsible for clearing the mess after decades of Republican HOGWASH arguing the virtues of Supply-Side-Economics and the “Trickle-Down Theory”. Didn’t anyone learn anything from S&L Crisis that occurred during the Reagan Era?
The logic behind the Republican deregulation scam was that if you motivate human nature with the stimulation of an unrestrained freedom to prosper in a free market then everyone profits. However, no one bothered to factor in another obvious aspect of human nature, unleashed greed, and uncontrolled greed is responsible for this eclipse in ethical judgment.
I’m not saying we should raise taxes on the RICH, but we should expect them to pay their fair share of taxes. We should stop bailouts for companies suffering from self inflected wounds. We should also stop handing out Corpor

Nice rant. However you are blaming to wrong party. The repeal of the glass steagall act happened in 1999. The administration at that time was CLINTON/GORE.
Barney Frank is supposed to be guarding the hen house
ya, we need a fresh crop of watchdogs, like these other two answers, they think its cute as long as they can get away with it, they have no regrets~!
some heads should roll, and we should demand it~!!!
Blah blah blah there’s more financial regulation now than there was ten years ago.
This was caused by the Fed.
The issue isn’t who can ride the waves and how – the issue is the size of the waves.
Lighten up! Don’t worry. The bailout is in the hands of congress which is controlled totally by the Democrats. Only they can write and approve the bill. You throw stones, but with the balance of powers, the approval lays souley on the hands of the democrats. You will have your chance to applaud your party, or rip them apart as you did in your message. In 2006, all of the committees transferred leadership in the senate from Republican to Democrat. You can put all your insults on those that were in control of those committees, and start with Barney Frank and Mr. Dodd. I agree we should stop bailouts. Lets see if the democratic congress will back you and I.
