Any one Heard of Chickens Eating Mice?
I was in my hen house yesterday and caught my hens fighting over a mouse. Is this bad for them to eat the mice or is it a normal act?
I did get it away from them, but I am sure they are catching others and eating them.
Thanks for your answers.

Normal.
But see that’s why I never understood people that eat animals.
I mean chickens eating nasty mice.
EEW!!! That is really gross!!! Maybe they were just fighting it out of their territory to protect their eggs? Sorry-I do not have any actual knowledge on this. Just had to comment!
Yes i hear of it.
it is bad rats are nasty creatures
they care disease.
It is very common for chickens to eat small mammals, reptiles, and amphibians as well as small invertebrates such as worms and insects. They are omnivores, so it is a natural and important part of their diet. Chickens love to chase after and catch anything that moves, and they will often times have more fun fighting over the catch than they will eating it. I have seen my chickens fighting over frogs, mice, and lizards. Dont worry, its normal and next time go ahead and let the chickens enjoy their meal, its very healthy for them!
