Are scented candles in the hen house appropriate?

I am thinking of entertaining a gentlement friend in the now empty hen house. Well – empty apart from the sweet lingering smell of my absent chooks that is.

Is that a safe proposition do you think?
Or will the candles make me seem a tad desperate?
Should it be a lot less contrived? Should I just leave the odd old meal sack lying around to add atmosphere?

So many questions! It’s been a long time since I put this much effort into it!!

Clean your house and be yourself. Let things take their own way. Don’t try to control the situation or you will really mess up. I am glad you have a real man coming by. I was worried that your entire love life revolved around YA!

go for it, if you can get a gentlemen friend into an empty hen house then he must also be desperate so the decorations won’t much matter. just bring condoms.

Well as long as you have swept the place well, and opened whatever windows there are, surely a beach or picnic type blanket and some comfy pillows to lean on will be appreciated. Candles could only enhance the atmosphere. Are you planning some soft music as well?
And what will you be wearing?

Only if you don’t mind the lice and an occasional feces worm crawling on you and your gentleman friend.

Men are very strange animals unto themselves. Do NOT leave chicken feed about, they will think you have invited them to dinner. Meal sacks have a certain charm about them, as long as there is no neck and arm holes cut in them. Find a candle scented, "Chicken Poop," it will bring out the fox in him..just a suggestion.

Sugar! When he walks through the door just grab his a– and start the party.
At our age time is a very real factor.
Don’t worry about the deco, food, clothing etc., just grab & go.
    Have fun.

I see " some people" in the barnyard today just don’t keep up with us do they? lol I say definitely light maybe one or two candles, just watch out and don’t set them around the straw.
You don’t want a fire in the coop/hen house.

I love candles! Perhaps you should try the new scent Perdue has out. It’s called "Chicken ‘n Dumplings." It’d be appropriate for the hen house. :)

Better to cook things that will make the place smell better.

Cook something for dinner that takes a long time to cook, so the scent will fill the place.

Then bake something for after, that will fill the place with vanilla and chocolate.

aaaahhh NO. You don’t sound the least desperate or contrived to me. Just change hen house to boudoir and there you have it. Old meal sacks are entirely an optional extra.
